The Government of the Virgin Islands has officially issued an invitation for tenders regarding the collection and management of solid waste across demarcated boundaries on the island of Jost Van Dyke. The procurement process will secure waste collection and handling services on the sister island for a contractual period of three years.

Prospective bidders are required to furnish essential compliance documentation to demonstrate they are in good standing with statutory obligations. Required documents include certificates of good standing covering taxes, customs duties, Social Security board contributions, and National Health Insurance payments, as well as valid company registry status.

These certificates must be obtained from the appropriate authorities, including the Inland Revenue Department, Social Security Board, and the Commercial Registry. The issue dates for all submitted compliance documentation must be no earlier than six months prior to the submission date.

Procurement officials have emphasized that failure to submit the required supporting documents will render bids non-responsive at the time of opening. Tender documents are available electronically upon request by emailing procurement@gov.vg with the subject line "Collection of Solid Waste Jost Van Dyke" on weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Tenderers are advised to confirm receipt of their requests with the Procurement Coordinator within two working days. A virtual pre-tender meeting is scheduled to take place on Thursday, October 15, at 10:00 a.m. local time. While participation is not mandatory, the Procurement Unit strongly advises all interested contractors to attend in order to fully assess site conditions, operational scope, and any logistical factors that could influence performance costs.

Submissions must include one original, three hard copies, and one digital copy on a flash drive, packaged in sealed envelopes clearly marked "Collection of Solid waste Jost Van Dyke." Bids must be deposited into the Tender Box at the Ministry of Finance Procurement Unit, located on the second floor of RFG Place in Road Town, Tortola, no later than 10:00 a.m. local time on Tuesday, October 27.

Bids will be opened publicly via WebEx at 11:00 a.m. on the same day. Government officials noted that the administration is not bound to accept the lowest bid or any tender, nor will it reimburse prospective contractors for any expenses incurred during the tendering process.
