BVI Murder Suspect Wanted in Sint Maarten
Fugitive John Dawn Emmanuel, also known as "Small Brent," is now being sought by authorities in Sint Maarten for a March 2026 double homicide. Emmanuel was previously named by the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force as the prime suspect in the May 2025 killing of Nyron Erickson on Tortola. Regional law enforcement agencies continue to warn the public that the suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
Regional authorities have intensified their search for John Dawn Emmanuel, also known as Brent Dain Danglade and by the street name "Small Brent," after law enforcement in Sint Maarten officially linked him to a deadly double homicide investigation. Emmanuel was previously identified by the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) as the prime suspect in the May 2025 murder of Nyron Erickson on Tortola.
Nearly a year after Erickson's death, the Public Prosecutor's Office in Sint Maarten and the Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) issued a wanted bulletin naming Emmanuel as the alleged gunman in the March 2, 2026 "Alligator" double murder on Arlet Peters Road. The victims in that case were Damien Sylvester and Denisha Delancy.
Sint Maarten prosecutors described the incident as an assassination targeted at Sylvester, while Delancy is believed to have been an unintended victim. Following the May 2025 killing of Erickson, the RVIPF launched an extensive manhunt across the Territory and issued urgent notices warning the BVI community that Emmanuel was armed and dangerous.
The new allegations in Sint Maarten significantly widen the scope of the cross-border operation to locate him. To aid in his capture, Sint Maarten police released multiple photographs documenting Emmanuel's appearance across different time periods, highlighting noticeable physical variations over the years.
Investigators have also pointed out a key identifying feature: an elongated tattoo running along the inside of his right forearm. Law enforcement bodies throughout the Caribbean, including regional partners and neighboring jurisdictions, are coordinating intelligence and resources to track down the fugitive.
The public documented warrants currently center on the murder investigations in the British Virgin Islands and Sint Maarten. Police continue to strongly caution residents across the Virgin Islands and surrounding territories not to approach Emmanuel under any circumstances. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to immediately contact local law enforcement or provide tips anonymously through official police hotlines.
