The British Virgin Islands Remote Control (RC) Drag Racing Team has returned home with hardware and regional accolades after delivering an impressive showing at the Come to the Line championship in Antigua and Barbuda. Hosted by RC Nation 268 at the Northsound International Raceway, the event drew elite RC drag racers and motorsport enthusiasts from across the Caribbean to compete on a 132-foot drag strip.

Leading the BVI's competitive charge was Ivan Smith, widely known as "Junie." Piloting his high-powered RC car, Red October, Smith powered his way into the semifinals and secured third place overall. In addition to securing a podium spot, Smith claimed the honour of recording the fastest single pass of the entire competition.

His best elapsed time of 1.2079 seconds was reported by the team as the second-fastest RC drag racing time ever officially recorded in Antigua, marking a major milestone for both the driver and the Territory. The Territory was also strongly represented by Kevin Smith, known as "Imo," who campaigned two vehicles, Justice and Rude Boy.

Smith advanced into the quarterfinal rounds, clocking a personal best elapsed time of 1.256 seconds. Teammate Martin Malone, known as "Smoke," rounded out the BVI squad behind the controls of Blue Smoke, recording a competitive elapsed time of 1.382 seconds and showcasing steady form throughout the rounds.

The team's collective showing highlights the growing interest and rising level of talent within the BVI's RC motorsport community. Following the meet, the BVI RC Drag Racing Team praised Junie, Imo, and Smoke for representing the Virgin Islands with pride and competitive excellence.

The team also extended appreciation to RC Nation 268, event organizers, and regional supporters for staging a successful meet that fostered camaraderie among Caribbean competitors. Operating under the theme "Different islands. Together we race," the BVI squad confirmed it is already looking forward to future regional competitions to further showcase local RC drag racing talent.
