BVI Showcases Diving Excellence at Dema
The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board (BVITBFC), in partnership with the BVI Scuba Organisation, will promote the Territory’s world-class diving at the DEMA Show 2025 in Florida. The delegation will also highlight the annual BVI Wreck Week, scheduled for June 21–27, 2026, and spotlight local dive operators and visitor experiences.
The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board (BVITBFC), working with the BVI Scuba Organisation—the parent body for scuba operators across the Territory—will attend the DEMA Show 2025 in Florida to promote the Territory’s diving product and underwater heritage. According to a BVITBFC press release, the team will use the show to showcase the BVI’s world-class dive sites and the operators that run them, as well as to promote land and sea accommodations and other visitor experiences.
The delegation will also spotlight the annual BVI Wreck Week, an increasingly popular event celebrating the Territory’s underwater history, scheduled for June 21–27, 2026. Leading the BVITBFC delegation are Perla George, Business Development Director, North America, and Fravern Collins, Senior Product Officer – Cruise.
VI Dive Ambassador and influencer Alton A. Bertie is also expected to attend. ‘‘The Board, in partnership with the BVI Scuba Organisation, has been participating in DEMA for decades as part of our ongoing efforts to showcase the British Virgin Islands as a premier scuba diving destination,’’ Ms.
George said in the release. ‘‘While diving remains our primary focus, we also take this opportunity to share updates on the Territory’s wide range of land and sea accommodations, along with the many other unforgettable experiences awaiting visitors.’’ Produced by the Diving Equipment & Marketing Association, the DEMA Show is the world’s largest trade-only event for professionals in scuba diving, ocean water sports and adventure/dive travel.
The show draws hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of industry professionals from around the globe, making it a key platform for attracting dive tour operators, travel buyers, media and influencers to the BVI. For BVI residents and dive operators, participation in DEMA is an opportunity to raise the Territory’s profile in competitive markets, secure bookings and partnerships, and promote conservation-minded tourism initiatives such as wreck preservation.
Highlighting Wreck Week at an international trade show also aims to expand interest in the BVI’s unique submerged cultural resources and support events that benefit local businesses. The BVITBFC and BVI Scuba Organisation’s continued presence at DEMA underscores the Territory’s commitment to sustaining and growing dive tourism—a vital part of the local visitor economy—while promoting safe, responsible enjoyment of the BVI’s marine assets.
