BVI Taps Mindtrip AI to Help Visitors
The British Virgin Islands Tourism Board has partnered with Mindtrip for Business to add an AI-powered trip-planning tool to the official bvitourism.com website, the Tourism Board announced in a release reported by Virgin Islands News Online (VINO). The tool instantly generates personalised itineraries, suggests experiences with photos and interactive maps, and provides island-hopping guidance including ferry routes, correct departure terminals and notices about closures and reopenings — all designed to make planning easy and to highlight local businesses.
The British Virgin Islands Tourism Board has teamed up with Mindtrip for Business to give travellers an AI-powered planning tool on the official bvitourism.com website, a move announced by the Tourism Board and reported by Virgin Islands News Online (VINO). According to the Tourism Board, the technology is designed to instantly generate personalised itineraries, suggest experiences, and provide interactive maps and photos to help visitors discover the archipelagos varied beaches, trails, dining and watersports.
VINOs report adds vivid detail about what the islands offer, from "sapphire waters and powdery white sand beaches" to "world-class dining, vegetation-lined footpaths, and unmatched kiteboarding, surfing, and sailing." "The British Virgin Islands is one of the most beautiful collections of isles and cays anywhere in the world, and each area has its own distinctive texture and character," said Clive McCoy, Director of Tourism, in the announcement reported by VINO. "By partnering with Mindtrip, we are able to spotlight all of our local hidden gems, connecting travellers to local businesses in a user-friendly way, in mere moments.
Its the perfect way to give them a taste of all our islands have to offer." Mindtrip for Business interacts with visitors on bvitourism.com by asking questions about their preferences for example timing, cuisine, accommodation style and activities and then instantly producing custom itineraries.
The service can generate a ready-made five-day plan or other tailored schedules, complete with photos and interactive maps for each point of interest, VINO reports. "The experience of using Mindtrip is designed to be incredibly easy," the release says. The AI can answer practical questions such as the best time of year to visit, which traditional restaurants serve the most authentic local cuisine, and which hotels are closest to the beach.
It also provides island-hopping guidance, including ferry routes, correct departure terminals, and updates on closures with expected reopening times, details VINO specifically highlighted. "There is nothing more exciting for us than working with a destination like the British Virgin Islands," said Andy Moss, co-founder and CEO of Mindtrip, according to the VINO report.
He said the partnership will help travellers uncover lesser-known attractions and plan everything from solo adventures to family trips and honeymoons. For BVI residents and local businesses, the Tourism Board says the move could mean increased exposure for local tour operators, restaurants and accommodation providers as more visitors arrive with curated plans highlighting small businesses and off-the-beaten-path sites.
The Board and Mindtrip encourage stakeholders to review their listings and contact the Tourism Board if details about services, terminals or operating hours need updating to ensure accuracy. Residents can try the new tool on bvitourism.com to see how the Territory is presented to prospective visitors; the initial announcement and fuller description were reported by Virgin Islands News Online (VINO).
