The Environmental Health Division has issued an urgent recall for Drôme Salaisons Pâté en Croûte Cocktail Pistache due to potential Listeria contamination. The product was distributed internationally, including to the British Virgin Islands, and consumers are instructed to discard it immediately. Health officials advise that consuming contaminated items can lead to serious illness, particularly among vulnerable populations.
The Environmental Health Division is alerting residents across the British Virgin Islands to an immediate product recall involving Drôme Salaisons Pâté en Croûte Cocktail Pistache. The advisory was issued after safety reports indicated that the product may be contaminated with Listeria, a harmful bacterium responsible for serious foodborne illness.
The recall specifically applies to the 400g package of Pâté en Croûte Cocktail Pistache under the Drôme Salaisons brand. Consumers should inspect their purchases for affected batches carrying use-by dates between 17 February 2026 and 31 March 2026. Public health officials confirmed that the affected batches have entered international distribution channels, with shipments reaching retailers in the British Virgin Islands.
Anyone who has purchased this item is strictly advised not to consume it. Instead, the product should be disposed of safely and immediately to avoid accidental exposure or ingestion. Consuming food contaminated with Listeria can lead to listeriosis, an infection that poses severe health hazards.
Common symptoms include fever, muscle aches, headaches, a stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and gastrointestinal distress such as diarrhea. Officials warned that listeriosis can be particularly hazardous for high-risk individuals, including pregnant women, newborn infants, elderly adults, and persons with weakened immune systems.
