The BVI Electricity Corporation (BVIEC) Long Bush office will start accepting payments for Water and Sewerage Department (W&SD) accounts effective July 15, the Ministry of Communications and Works informed customers in a correspondence dated July 14. The move comes after the formal merger of BVIEC and W&SD, which was approved by the House of Assembly and assented to by Governor Daniel Pruce on June 6, 2026.

According to the ministry’s notice, the addition of the Long Bush payment point is intended to support the ongoing transition and provide customers with greater convenience. The correspondence emphasised that payments will continue to be made at the Owomar Building, the current W&SD location, and that the BVIEC Long Bush office has been added as an alternative to ease the integration process.

Customers visiting the Long Bush office to pay water bills are asked to bring their relevant account information to ensure payments are correctly credited. For residents, the change is part of a broader consolidation of utility services under the newly merged entity. Officials say the integration aims to streamline operations and customer service over time, though practical adjustments such as payment locations and processes will be phased in to avoid disruption.

At this stage, the ministry’s correspondence focuses on payment locations and the need for customers to present account details in person. Customers should continue to use established payment channels at the Owomar Building if that remains more convenient. Those who regularly interact with either office may see other administrative changes as the two agencies align systems and procedures.

Customers with questions or concerns are advised to watch for further communications from the Ministry of Communications and Works and BVIEC. Keeping payment receipts and account records up to date during the transition will help prevent billing errors. The ministry has not yet published a detailed rollout timetable for other service or billing changes related to the merger.

Residents seeking clarification should contact the Ministry of Communications and Works or the BVIEC through their official channels for the latest guidance and office hours.
