BVIEC Opens Tender For Oil Services
The British Virgin Islands Electricity Corporation has issued an invitation to tender for the supply of lubricating oils and the removal of waste oils for its power facilities on Tortola and Anegada. The procurement is being conducted through an International Competitive Bidding process with a deadline set for November 3, 2026.
The British Virgin Islands Electricity Corporation (BVIEC), a statutory body of the Government of the Virgin Islands, has officially announced a tender notice seeking qualified and experienced contractors to handle fuel and lubrication management services across its primary power generation facilities.
The contract scope encompasses the supply and delivery of lubricating oils, as well as the responsible removal and disposal of waste oils and slops. These critical services will support operations at both the Henry Wilfred Smith Power Station located at Pockwood Pond, Tortola, and the Anegada Power Station.
Lubricating oils are vital for the continuous maintenance and mechanical efficiency of the territory's electrical generators, preventing excessive wear on equipment that supplies power to homes and businesses across the Virgin Islands. Simultaneously, proper disposal of hazardous waste oils and slops remains a crucial priority to ensure environmental safety and regulatory compliance across BVIEC facilities.
According to the corporation, the procurement is being conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) process to encourage comprehensive and competitive proposals from both local and international providers. Firms interested in participating in the bidding process must obtain the complete Invitation to Tender documentation by emailing the corporation at procurement@bvielectricity.com.
Prospective bidders who require clarifications or further operational details are advised to contact the procurement team directly ahead of the submission deadline. Sealed tenders must be submitted no later than Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM. The BVIEC noted in its procurement disclaimer that it does not bind itself to accept the lowest-priced proposal or any other submission received.
The corporation also reserves the right to cancel the tender process in whole or in part without reimbursing any expenses incurred by participating firms.
