The British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority has announced a temporary adjustment to the daily operating schedule for the Road Town Clinic as renovation work officially gets underway inside the facility. According to an official public advisory from the health authority, the clinic began operating under revised hours effective Tuesday, September 8, running daily from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on weekdays.
The temporary schedule is slated to remain in place through Tuesday, September 22. In its statement, the BVIHSA explained that the schedule adjustment is necessary to facilitate ongoing capital improvement works, which are designed to significantly upgrade the clinic's facilities and improve overall service delivery to the public. The operational changes are connected to a major capital improvement contract valued at $463,087.20, which was awarded earlier this year to Supreme Construction Engineering Management Services. The project encompasses extensive renovation and modernisation works within the primary Clinic Lobby at the Major Peebles Wing of the Dr.
The Major Peebles Wing serves as a critical healthcare hub on Tortola, housing several essential public health divisions. Key specialized units operating within the wing include the Immigration Clinic, the Dental Unit, and the Hemodialysis Unit. The comprehensive lobby upgrades aim to create a modern, comfortable, and efficient environment for patients awaiting medical consultations and specialised treatments.
