Bvihsa to Update Virgin Gorda Residents
The BVI Health Services Authority will hold a community meeting at St Mary’s Church hall from 5:30 PM to update Virgin Gorda residents on ongoing infrastructural issues at the Nurse Iris O’Neal Clinic and to hear community concerns. BVIHSA officials say service was disrupted in October 2025 and a field hospital remains on site while repairs continue.

Grange announced the meeting on the radio programme Talking Points on Monday, December 8, 2025. He said the authority wants to update the public about ongoing works that have disrupted services since October 2025 and to hear directly from the community about their concerns. Service at the Nurse Iris O’Neal Clinic was interrupted in October for essential infrastructural work; a field hospital has been deployed on the clinic’s grounds since then to continue providing some services.
Grange acknowledged the authority has faced a number of challenges during the repair process, saying they have been "jumping through hoops to resolve issues," and described the community meeting as "long overdue." The meeting is part of BVIHSA’s recently launched Strategic Plan, which places emphasis on regular dialogue with communities across the Territory. "We are shaping healthcare together," Grange said, adding: "We don’t want to sit from the desk of BVIHSA and say this is what we’re doing; we want to ensure that the care we provide is meeting the needs of the community." For Virgin Gorda residents, the clinic’s disruption has been a pressing local issue.
