The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board (BVITB) has earned international acclaim after being shortlisted for the Tourist Board of the Year category by the Aspire Luxury Travel Club. The nomination places the Territory among an elite group of global tourism organisations recognised for their exceptional service to the high-end travel sector.

Organised by the United Kingdom-based Aspire Luxury Travel Club, the Aspire Awards are widely regarded across the international travel trade as a benchmark for luxury excellence. The Luxury Tourist Board of the Year category honours destination marketing organisations that demonstrate an effective focus on affluent travellers, with nominees evaluated on their trade engagement, consumer campaigns, luxury product development, and measurable success in driving high visitor spending.

This latest recognition builds upon a growing list of international accolades for the Virgin Islands. Earlier this year, the Territory was named Best Luxury Destination in the Caribbean in Modern Luxury's Travel Awards, following its title as Hottest Destination of the Year from the same publication in 2025.

The Virgin Islands has also featured prominently in Travel + Leisure's World's Best Awards and successfully hosted the 10th Caribbean POSH ICON Woman Awards in July, further cementing its reputation for hosting high-profile regional events. Across Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada, and Jost Van Dyke, local tourism partners and operators have increasingly tailored their offerings to appeal to discerning travellers seeking privacy, bespoke yachting experiences, and world-class hospitality.

The BVITB's shortlisting highlights the collaborative work between public tourism officials and private sector operators in maintaining these high standards. The final winners of the Aspire Awards will be announced at an awards ceremony in Manchester on December 14. Tourism officials have noted that the nomination itself underscores the Territory's standing as a leading luxury destination in the Caribbean and validates ongoing initiatives to foster sustainable, high-value tourism growth.
