Customs officers in the British Virgin Islands have successfully intercepted more than 500 grams of suspected cannabis shipped into the territory through a commercial courier delivery service. The discovery occurred during screening operations at the FedEx facility located in Lower Estate, Tortola.
Upon opening and inspecting the flagged package, officers uncovered a vacuum-sealed plastic bag containing green vegetable matter believed to be cannabis. At this stage of the inquiry, it remains unclear whether investigators have verified the specific address or the individual to whom the package was addressed.
It is also not yet confirmed whether any suspects have been taken into custody or questioned in connection with the discovery. This recent seizure underscores ongoing concerns regarding the use of private courier companies, postal services, and freight consolidators to smuggle contraband into the British Virgin Islands.
