Diamond Chalwell Water Lines Near Completion

Contractor ABC Plumbing announced this week that the water transmission line upgrade serving Diamond and Chalwell Estates is moving into its final phase. In a video posted to Facebook, company owner Bryant N. Ismael said crews would cast manhole bases on Monday, January 12, 2026. ‘‘What we are doing now is building manholes, and we are doing the base, which is the foundation now for the footing of the manhole, and then we are going to put the casting.
So the plan is to cast the base on Monday,’’ he said. Ismael said the project will also require a final connection between a 12-inch pipe and an 8-inch line, which he described as ‘‘the final connection to where it’s going, which is a destination, the continuation of the black pipe.’’ He indicated that the final tie-in and related works are scheduled for next week, with the overall job expected to be largely complete by late next week.
Work underway includes the installation of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) transmission pipe and construction of several manholes, including one near the Skyworld area where crews are preparing to cast the sides and floor. Crews are also cleaning up the roads after pipe-laying operations.
HDPE piping is commonly used in water transmission because of its flexibility and resistance to corrosion and leakage; the switch is intended to improve the long-term reliability of the supply network for residents in the two estates. While Ismael gave the project timeline and described the remaining tasks, he did not specify whether the final connections will require temporary water shutoffs or road closures.
