Do Not Make Payments Via LMS

The Government Information Service (GIS) has warned members of the public who can access the Learning Management System (LMS) — or another government LMS platform — not to make online payments until further notice. In a bulletin issued on July 16, 2026, the GIS said the issue is under active investigation and that efforts are being made to restore normal service, including online payment functionality.
The Department responsible apologised for any inconvenience and thanked stakeholders for their patience and understanding. No further update has been published since the initial bulletin. While details on the nature of the problem were not released, the precautionary notice means residents should avoid entering card or banking details through the LMS or initiating any e-payments there until authorities confirm the platform is secure and fully operational.
The Government has committed to issuing a further public update once services are restored. What BVI residents should do now: - Do not initiate online payments through the LMS until an official all-clear is issued. - Use alternate payment channels offered by the relevant department where possible, such as in-person payments at government offices, bank transfers via known account details, or approved merchant portals.
Verify acceptable alternatives with the department involved before making payments. - Keep proof of any prior payments or pending transactions and monitor your bank accounts for unauthorised activity.
