Final Food Handler Trainings for 2025
The Environmental Health Division has scheduled its last Food Handlers Training sessions for 2025: a virtual class at 9 a.m. on Dec. 2 and an in-person session at 5 p.m. on Dec. 9 at Elmore Stoutt High School. Participants must register in advance and bring required identification and documentation depending on whether they are renewing or applying for the first time.
The Environmental Health Division announced on Nov. 21 that it will hold the final Food Handlers Training courses for 2025, offering a virtual session on Dec. 2 and an in-person class on Dec. 9. The virtual training is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on Dec. 2 and will be delivered via Microsoft Teams.
Participants are asked to download Teams ahead of time, register through the link provided by the division, and ensure they have a working email address. The division has advised that screen sharing will not be permitted during the virtual session. The in-person session will take place at 5 p.m. on Dec. 9 in the Lecture Room of Elmore Stoutt High School’s L-shape building.
Attendees are reminded to bring materials for note-taking, including pen and paper. Renewing food handlers must present their current food handler’s card along with a valid form of identification to complete the renewal process. New applicants should bring a passport-sized photograph, their social security card, and a government-issued ID.
These document requirements help the division verify participants and issue or renew certification following successful completion of the training. The training courses are part of the Environmental Health Division’s ongoing efforts to promote safe food handling across the British Virgin Islands.
Proper food handler training reduces the risk of foodborne illness and supports local businesses that prepare and serve food to residents and visitors. Certification is commonly required by employers and is necessary for those seeking or renewing food handler cards.
