The family-owned property, created in the late 1960s when Andy Flax and his late wife Norma turned a gift of land from Andy’s grandfather into a beachfront oasis, remains a popular stop for visitors and a steady presence in the local tourism landscape.
Fischer’s Cove blends history and hospitality with simple, island-style accommodations. The property offers four Beach Cottages and eight Beach Studios, each equipped with Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a TV, a kitchenette and private showers. Rooms are described as comfortable and colourful, designed to reflect relaxed Caribbean living while offering modern conveniences that appeal to both overnight guests and longer-stay visitors.
The on-site restaurant is a major draw for both visitors and residents. Located directly on the sand with turquoise water views, the menu highlights local seafood and island recipes alongside international favourites. Morning options include specialty omelettes called Normandy, "Andy’s Delight" local fish fillets and fruit mimosas.
Daytime and evening offerings feature Norma’s Chunky Conch Fritters, a BVI-inspired Fish and Fungi Platter, seafood boils, local patties and gourmet pizzas, with iced teas and fresh lemonade to accompany beachside dining. Fischer’s Cove also programmes live entertainment and seasonal events that help sustain Virgin Gorda’s visitor season.
Lobster Nights run from late January through March, while "Sax at Sunset" in March features Brandon from Smooth Sounds performing as the sun sets. The property hosts holiday brunches for Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Christmas, sometimes spotlighting local performers such as Resurrected Rhythms.
Beyond food and lodging, Cocoa Coconut Bliss Spa offers massages, manicures, pedicures and hair services by appointment, and Lady Norma’s Boutique stocks resort wear, swimwear and jewellery. The spa and boutique operate from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.; reservations are recommended to secure preferred times.
