Former Miss BVI Queens Return
Former Miss British Virgin Islands titleholders will reunite with 2026 contestants for the Royal Court Cultural Fun Day & Fish Fry on Saturday, June 20 at First Impressions School Grounds. The family-friendly fundraiser features traditional games, live entertainment, food vendors and a chance to support contestants ahead of the August pageant.
ROAD TOWN — Former Miss British Virgin Islands queens will step back into the spotlight on Saturday, June 20 when they join the 2026 contestants at the Royal Court Cultural Fun Day & Fish Fry, the Miss British Virgin Islands Pageant’s premier fundraiser. The event begins at 11 a.m. at the First Impressions School Grounds and promises a day of culture, competition and community support.
Organisers say this year marks the first time during the 2026 pageant season that former queens will return to friendly competition, reconnecting with the programme that helped shape their public roles. Team challenges will include classic Virgin Islands games such as the popular lime-and-spoon race, offering light-hearted rivalry and opportunities for spectators to cheer on both past and present ambassadors of the territory.
The fun day will showcase local performing talent and cultural groups. Live music from DJ Dre will keep the crowd moving, while sets and performances by the Razor Blades, Plait Polers and the Grasshoppers Skipping Group highlight traditional rhythms, costume and community creativity.
Children’s activities, including bouncy houses, will make the event family-friendly, and a variety of food vendors will serve local dishes, refreshments and fish fry favourites. Hodge, chairperson of the Miss British Virgin Islands Pageant Committee, described the event as “a unique blend of culture, nostalgia, and wholesome family entertainment.” She encouraged residents to attend, meet the 2026 contestants and support the community-driven fundraiser that helps underwrite the pageant’s activities.
Attendees will also be able to cast votes for the Miss Popularity Award, allowing supporters to back their favourite contestant ahead of pageant night. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children. The Royal Court Cultural Fun Day & Fish Fry is part of the official calendar leading up to the Miss British Virgin Islands Pageant, scheduled for Sunday, August 2 at the Lavida Cottoy Festiville.
