Hodge said Garcia “would be considered by the Asia Study Abroad Programme.” The recommendation recognises Garcia’s performance, commitment and potential during the intensive academy, but he will still need to submit an application and be accepted before he can pursue further studies in Film & Media, TV Production, Creative Communications or related fields.
The academy ran from July 7 to 10, 2026 and brought participants through practical modules in scriptwriting, documentary filmmaking, and distribution and packaging. Facilitators included industry professionals CJ Faison, Corey Colvin and James Bland, who guided participants in developing ideas and acquiring hands-on skills to produce and promote their work.
