Getaway Boat Seized After Pier Park Robbery
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) says a motor vessel believed to have been used by robbers who struck Pier Park was recovered and seized on a beach in the Kingstown area, and four people have been brought in for questioning. Police say the incident occurred just after 2:00 PM, shots were reportedly fired, no serious injuries have been reported, and investigators are appealing for footage and information.
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) says several masked men armed with firearms entered a Pier Park establishment just after 2:00 PM and demanded valuables, before fleeing by sea. Preliminary reports from the RVIPF, released late Wednesday, December 3, 2025, say the suspects left via a motor vessel after taking an undisclosed quantity of jewellery.
Shots were reportedly fired during the incident, but police have said no serious injuries were reported; staff and customers were left shaken, the force said. Officers responded promptly to the scene and secured the area, the RVIPF said. Within about an hour the vessel thought to have been the getaway craft was located and seized on a beach behind Clarence Thomas Ltd in the Kingstown area, according to the force.
Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) also reported the craft was recovered in the Kingston/Kingstown area and taken into police custody for examination. Police have taken the abandoned boat into custody as part of ongoing inquiries and are processing it for evidence. Investigators from the Criminal Investigation Department are actively pursuing leads, the RVIPF said, and have appealed to anyone with information, video footage or photographs that could assist the probe to come forward.
Virgin Islands News Online reported that four persons have since been brought in for questioning in relation to the robbery. The RVIPF has not disclosed whether any charges have been filed and no arrests were confirmed in the reports; those detained were being questioned as part of the continuing investigation, VINO said.
Commissioner of Police Richard Ullger described the incident as "a brazen act that endangered members of the public," and said the force is dedicating all necessary resources to identify and apprehend those responsible. He urged anyone with information to come forward, the RVIPF release quoted him as saying.

Authorities continue to process evidence from the vessel and canvass CCTV and mobile phone footage from the Pier Park area and Kingston/Kingstown environs. Police reiterated that they will release further details as inquiries progress and asked residents and business owners to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity to the RVIPF.
