The Ministry of Communications and Works said in a Facebook post on October 12, 2026, that the work follows last week’s interior cleaning of the facility and forms part of ongoing efforts to rehabilitate and strengthen the Territory’s water infrastructure. According to the Ministry, crews from Florida AquaStore have commenced the resealing exercise, which is intended to improve the condition and reliability of the reservoir.

The facility serves Nottingham Estate, Fort Hill and nearby areas. The Ministry apologised to residents for any inconvenience that may be caused during the works and asked for the public’s patience as this crucial infrastructural project is undertaken. The Sabbath Hill reservoir rehabilitation forms part of a wider programme to repair reservoirs across the Virgin Islands, including facilities at Fort Hill, Hannah Hill, Balsam Ghut and Minton Hill, with the goal of improving water storage capacity and long-term system resilience.
