Gov't Programme Spotlights Young Apprentice
🌟 Apprentice Spotlight | Government of the Virgin Islands Apprenticeship Programme Meet Mr. Kerjahni Prevost, a driven young Virgin Islander gaining meaningful workplace experience while already setting ambitious goals for his future! Kerjahni is completing his apprenticeship with the Records Management Unit of the Civil Registry & Passport Office, Government of the Virgin Islands, where he has gained firsthand experience in the important work that happens behind the scenes of the Public Service.
From data entry and records organisation to filing and assisting with the creation and maintenance of Naturalisation, Registration and Belonger files, Kerjahni has taken on real responsibilities while learning the importance of accuracy, professionalism, following instructions and teamwork.
He has also developed practical skills in professional telephone etiquette, data entry and records management. Kerjahni’s ambitions extend from finance to the football field! A student of the BVI Seventh-day Adventist School, Kerjahni will be entering Grade 11 in the Business Stream as he continues building his knowledge in business-related subjects.
His future aspirations are to become a Finance Manager and a Professional Footballer and his sporting journey is already well underway as a goalkeeper on the BVI National U17 Football Team! ⚽ Kudos to the BVI Seventh-day Adventist School for its continued role in moulding and developing young people like Kerjahni, providing the educational foundation, discipline and encouragement that help prepare students to pursue their goals with confidence.
Kerjahni also shared that his apprenticeship has given him a positive perspective on public service and that he would consider returning to work for the Government of the Virgin Islands in the future. Special recognition and appreciation to the Records Management Unit and the Civil Registry & Passport Office of The Virgin Islands Government for investing time in Kerjahni’s development and providing a supportive environment where he can learn, contribute, and gain valuable exposure to the professional world.
