Hannah Hill Reservoir Repairs Nearly Complete
Repairs to the 480,000-gallon Hannah Hill Reservoir are on track to conclude within two weeks, promising improved water reliability for nearby residents. The project is the first phase of an approximately $1.97 million contract to rehabilitate multiple water storage facilities across the Territory.

Once fully operational, the restored infrastructure is slated to deliver a more consistent and reliable water supply to surrounding neighbourhoods.
Minister for Communications and Works Kye Rymer recently visited the project site to inspect the ongoing progress. Contractors are currently re-installing the reservoir's glass-fused panel floor in its entirety. Following the floor installation, crews will proceed to reseal the bolts across the exterior panels to guarantee structural integrity and prevent leaks.
Work on the facility commenced on August 7 and was initially projected to take between four and six weeks. Minister Rymer confirmed that the refurbishment remains on schedule, noting that contractors have provided assurances that all on-site works will wrap up within two weeks. The Hannah Hill project marks the first phase of a broader reservoir rehabilitation programme funded through an approximately $1.97 million contract awarded to Florida Aqua Store.
As soon as work at Hannah Hill concludes, contractors will immediately shift their focus to the Sabbath Hill Reservoir. The comprehensive contract also covers extensive upgrades to reservoirs at Fort Hill, Balsam Ghut, and Minton Hill on Virgin Gorda. This territory-wide rehabilitation effort comes as welcome news to residents who have long grappled with persistent supply disruptions.
Communities across the British Virgin Islands have frequently endured low water pressure, irregular distribution schedules, and extended service outages, with households located at higher elevations experiencing the greatest difficulties. Minister Rymer emphasised that the overhaul of the Hannah Hill facility is an essential component of the government's wider strategy to upgrade aging infrastructure and resolve long-standing water distribution challenges.
With increased storage capacity and fortified facilities, officials anticipate a significant improvement in everyday service delivery for residents.
