HLSCC Celebrates Class of 2026
H. Lavity Stoutt Community College held its Class of 2026 graduation on June 11 at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex under the theme "Time to Thrive," with 217 students participating and 229 awards conferred. Rhiann Ramlall and Erisha Bobb were named top students in Business Administration and Accounting respectively, amid numerous academic and special honours.
Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) Class of 2026 celebrated graduation on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex under the theme "Time to Thrive." According to a college press release, 219 students applied for graduation, 217 met the criteria and were approved, and those 217 participated in the ceremony—151 female and 66 male graduates.
The College recognised 17 students graduating with honours: 11 Cum Laude, four Magna Cum Laude and two Summa Cum Laude. Rhiann Ramlall was recognised as the Top Business Administration Student and Erisha Bobb received the Ernst & Young Top Accounting Student Award. Other standout recipients included Malik Brewley as Top Finance Student and Malakai Brewle as Most Improved Business Student.
Special awards highlighted leadership, technical skill and community focus. D’Aunte Williams received the Vice President’s Award for Outstanding Character and Leadership and served as the Graduate Respondent. Noah Fox earned the Excellence in Technical Studies Award. Angeleah Cupid took the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teacher Education; Kayla Briggs won the Excellence in Mathematics and Science Award; and RayAnna Depeza received the Eva Baskin Eco-Science Distinction Award.
Additional honours included the Financial Leadership Excellence Award to Nickeya Vanterpool, the Business Innovation Award to Alysa Penn, and the P3 Futurist Leadership Award in Business Administration to Diandra Phillips. HLSCC conferred a total of 229 awards across degrees, certificates and professional qualifications: 69 Associate of Arts degrees, 74 Associate of Science degrees, two Associate of Applied Science degrees, 44 certificates of achievement and 40 professional certificates through programmes such as the Chartered Management Institute, Effective School Leadership and University Teaching and Learning.
Business Administration was the largest associate degree programme with 44 awards, followed by 24 in General Science, 10 in Human Services and nine in Accounting. Multiple-award graduates were celebrated: eight Double Awards and two Triple Awards were conferred, including Erisha Bobb (two degrees) and Jayden Fahie (two degrees, one certificate).
The keynote address was delivered by the Right Honourable Dame Janice M. Pereira, DBE, LLD, who reflected on the College’s evolving role and the class’s readiness to contribute to national development. For BVI residents, this graduating cohort strengthens local capacity across business, science, education, hospitality and technical fields—areas central to the Territory’s economy and public services.
As HLSCC enters a new phase of academic and national impact, the Class of 2026 is positioned to support recovery, resilience and growth across the Virgin Islands community.
