The milestone 30th edition of the HLSCC College Classic race series is underway, drawing runners of all ages across the British Virgin Islands as organisers combine competition with community causes. The series opened in Virgin Gorda on Saturday, September 27, 2025, when thirty-eight participants completed the scenic Valley course.

Rashad Boyce took overall honours in 13 minutes, 26.12 seconds, while Kaeja Creque of the Raw Skillz Track Club led the women’s field in 15 minutes, 31.64 seconds. Raw Skillz athletes were well represented, continuing the club’s strong tradition of supporting the College Classic. The momentum carried to Tortola on Saturday, October 4, when HLSCC’s Paraquita Bay Campus hosted the second leg.

Organisers said approximately 100 runners tackled one-mile and two-mile courses across the campus grounds. For the first time the organisers staged the Paraquita Beast 10K alongside the two-mile race, adding a longer-distance challenge to the series. Ricketts was the standout in Tortola, winning the two-mile in 11 minutes, 27.57 seconds and going on to claim the Paraquita Beast 10K in 40 minutes, 42.83 seconds.

Tiffany Herbert led the women’s two-mile in 15 minutes, 41.77 seconds, while Rosmond Johnson was the first female across the 10K in 45 minutes, 45.56 seconds. Youth competition remains a key focus: in the one-mile U9–U13 races Jmoi Scatliffe and Chloerosa Soloman won the boys’ and girls’ divisions respectively, underscoring the strong pipeline of young runners in the Territory.

Organisers emphasised that the Tortola leg will continue to raise funds for the HLSCC Giving Campaign, supporting student needs and campus programs. The series finale returns to Virgin Gorda on October 25 and will feature a Breast Cancer Awareness theme; participants are encouraged to wear pink and contribute to both the Giving Campaign and breast cancer initiatives.

Mourant continues as title sponsor, marking its long-term support since 2016 and providing specially branded anniversary tokens for participants. Blu Water remained the official hydration partner, ensuring runners were refreshed at the finish line. The series blends sport, community fundraising and youth development, offering BVI residents opportunities to compete, volunteer and support local students and health causes across the Territory.
