The event marks the second production of the college's revitalized Performing Arts Series and features an array of local talent. Attendees can look forward to performances by Glenn Bryan & Friends, the HLSCC Jazz Ensemble, and other special guests.
Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) is preparing to welcome music enthusiasts for Jazz Noir, an evening dedicated to live jazz, elegance, and community connection. Scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM, the production serves as the second major offering in the college's ongoing Performing Arts Series.
The evening promises a diverse lineup of established and emerging talent. Featured acts include Glenn Bryan & Friends, Blue Essence, the HLSCC Jazz Ensemble, and the HLSCC Stingrays. Attendees will also be treated to a special tap and jazz collaboration featuring Che Pemberton. Grant will guide the audience through the night's festivities as the official host.
According to Riiah Durante, Performing Arts Coordinator at HLSCC, the initiative is designed to provide an immersive cultural atmosphere rather than a standard concert. Durante highlighted the timeless quality of jazz, noting that the genre encourages audiences to slow down, connect, and enjoy the moment together.
The production aims to merge musicianship, culture, and conversation into a unified community experience. The showcase represents HLSCC's continued commitment to expanding arts and cultural programming across the Territory, building on the positive momentum generated since the relaunch of the Performing Arts Series earlier this year.
Organizers are encouraging patrons to embrace the theme of the evening by dressing in Jazz Noir Chic to enhance the sophisticated ambiance. General admission tickets are priced at $40, while HLSCC students, faculty, and staff can attend for $25 with valid institutional identification.
A limited VIP Cocktail Experience is also available for $250, which provides admission for up to two guests, private seating, complimentary wine, gourmet hors d'oeuvres, and artist meet-and-greet opportunities. Tickets are available online at events.hlscc.edu.vg, at J&C Trading in Road Town, and at the HLSCC Campus Store in Paraquita Bay.
