Intruder Steals Liquor From Loose Mongoose
Surveillance cameras captured an intruder breaking into Loose Mongoose in the early hours of Saturday morning. The masked suspect scaled a perimeter wall and stole at least three bottles of liquor before fleeing. Management has asked anyone with information to contact them privately while emphasizing that no cash is kept on site.
Management at Loose Mongoose is seeking the public's assistance after an overnight break-in where an intruder was captured on surveillance cameras stealing several bottles of liquor from the popular establishment. According to closed-circuit television (CCTV) records, the incident took place at approximately 2:50 AM on Saturday.
Security footage shows an individual wearing a mask, a winter hooded coat, short pants, and slides scaling a perimeter wall to gain entry into the bar. Once inside, the suspect selected at least three bottles of liquor before escaping by climbing back over the same wall. Following the discovery of the break-in, the establishment issued an appeal on social media, urging community members with relevant information to come forward.
Management asked anyone who recognizes the individual or has details about the incident to send a private message so the information can be forwarded to law enforcement authorities. The business also requested that residents refrain from naming or accusing individuals publicly in social media comment sections.
The business reiterated that no cash or high-value items are kept on the property overnight, pointing out that such break-ins cause unnecessary disruption for little gain. In their statement, management highlighted that the premises are well secured and noted the unwarranted stress and operational difficulties these incidents impose on hardworking team members.
Break-ins and opportunistic thefts remain an ongoing challenge for commercial operators across the British Virgin Islands, particularly within the hospitality sector. Loose Mongoose expressed deep appreciation to the local community for their continuous support and encouraged residents to share information to assist authorities in identifying the person responsible.
