Iris O’Neal Clinic Relocates Services Temporarily
Healthcare operations at the Nurse Iris O’Neal Clinic on Virgin Gorda have been temporarily relocated following indoor air quality issues at the main facility. Emergency medical care, routine clinic appointments, and prescription pickups are being routed through St. Mary’s Anglican Hall and the North Sound Clinic while maintenance and deep cleaning are underway.
The Nurse Iris O’Neal Clinic on Virgin Gorda has temporarily suspended normal on-site operations and redirected its healthcare services following a minor building issue that compromised indoor air quality. According to a statement issued by the BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA), technical maintenance teams are actively addressing the issue at the Virgin Gorda facility.
Alongside the technical repairs, a comprehensive deep cleaning procedure is being carried out across the premises to ensure the building is fully safe for both medical personnel and visiting patients before regular operations resume. To guarantee uninterrupted medical coverage for the sister island, 24-hour emergency healthcare services have been temporarily established at St.
Residents in urgent need of acute medical attention are advised to report directly to this temporary site, while standard emergency dispatch remains accessible via 911 for life-threatening situations. Routine community medical care has been transferred to the North Sound Clinic, which is operating daily between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Patients requiring wound dressing services can visit on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, while routine vaccination services will also be administered at the North Sound location. Essential home visits conducted by healthcare staff across Virgin Gorda will proceed as scheduled without interruption.

Prescription management is also operating under modified procedures during the temporary disruption. Patients needing medication refills must telephone their orders in to 284-440-6105 prior to 11:00 a.m.
