Second place went to Sachin Singh of Enis Adams Primary School for an essay about his teacher, Ms. Singh’s runner-up finish rounds out the top two for this year’s contest, which spotlights students’ reflections on the teachers who have inspired them. Organisers also presented two consolation prizes to recognise broader classroom and community engagement.
Ryan of Valley Day Primary School as the teacher with the most entries from his class; the submissions came from students Nathanael Hillhouse, Marcky Nares and Madisonraine Doyle (JTV; VINO). The other consolation prize went to Coach Mr. Riley of Cedar International, identified by organisers as the teacher who has received the most nominations year to date — this year’s nomination for Mr.

Now in its fifth year, the annual event aims to encourage creative writing among young people while recognising the teachers who inspire and shape their students’ lives. In a press release quoted by VINO, the Rotary Club of Road Town said: "The annual 'My Favourite Teacher' competition has once again captured the hearts of students, showcasing the incredible impact teachers have on their students’ lives." Over the past five years the competition has become a valued part of the BVI education calendar, providing students a platform to reflect publicly on the teachers who have influenced their learning and character.
