Man Charged After 385g Cannabis Seizure
A 35-year-old man, identified by police as Milford Todman Jr, was arrested on June 19 in Baugher's Bay after officers say they found about 385 grams of suspected cannabis on his person and in a backpack. He has been charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply, granted $20,000 bail and is due in Magistrate's Court on July 30, 2026.
A 35-year-old man has been charged after police say they discovered nearly 385 grams of suspected cannabis during a patrol in Baugher's Bay last week. The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) reported officers observed Milford Todman Jr exiting a vehicle on Friday, June 19. According to the force, officers detected a strong odour consistent with cannabis coming from the vehicle, which led to a search of Todman and the vehicle.
Police say a quantity of suspected cannabis was found on Todman and additional suspected cannabis was located inside a backpack in the vehicle. Todman was arrested at the scene and taken to the Road Town Police Station. After the total quantity seized was determined to be approximately 385 grams, he was charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply.
He was granted bail in the amount of $20,000 and is scheduled to appear before the Magistrate's Court on July 30, 2026. The arrest comes amid ongoing police efforts to tackle drug-related crime across the Virgin Islands. Earlier this month the RVIPF disclosed that two teenagers were arrested after suspected cannabis and paraphernalia were reportedly found at a secondary school on Tortola, a development that renewed public concern about drug use and trafficking in the territory.
In recent months officers have also conducted several interdiction operations and investigations into alleged possession with intent to supply and larger-scale trafficking offences. In announcing the latest charge, the RVIPF reiterated that disrupting the illegal drug trade remains a policing priority and renewed an appeal for public assistance. "The RVIPF continues to encourage members of the public to provide information that assists law enforcement in keeping communities safe," the force said.

For residents, the case is another reminder of the force's active operations against drug distribution and the importance of community cooperation.
The matter will proceed through the courts on the scheduled magistrate's hearing date, and police have signaled they will continue targeting those suspected of supplying illegal drugs in the territory.
