Orlando Smith Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Authorities have not released the victim’s identity pending family notification. Forensic teams attended and processed the scene while criminal investigators pursue leads to identify those responsible. The RVIPF is urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the Fahie Hill area around the time of the shooting to contact the Criminal Investigations Department or call the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline.
This incident comes amid a recent increase in gun-related violence in the territory. Just days earlier, on Sunday, October 26, police responded to a late-night shooting in Purcell Estate where a man believed to be of Spanish descent suffered serious injuries. Investigators recovered multiple spent shell casings at that scene and the victim was also treated at the Dr.
It is not yet clear whether the Purcell Estate shooting and the Fahie Hill attack are connected. Authorities are also probing potential links between these shootings and the recent escape of two inmates from His Majesty’s Prison, a development that has intensified public concern about safety across the BVI.
In response, the RVIPF said it has increased patrols in key areas across Tortola and is stepping up investigative activity. "The cooperation of residents is critical at this time," the force said, adding it is doing everything possible to bring those responsible to justice and ensure community safety.
Police are asking residents to remain vigilant: report unfamiliar vehicles or persons, preserve any dash-cam or doorbell footage that might show activity around Fahie Hill on the night in question, and contact authorities rather than confronting suspected offenders. The RVIPF reiterated that Crime Stoppers provides a confidential channel for tips.
