Maya Z. V. Marcelin won the 2025 Miss Haynes Smith Talented Teen Caribbean Pageant on December 29, 2025, and will represent the Virgin Islands at Miss Teen Universe in Nicaragua. Marcelin made history on the evening of Monday, December 29, 2025, when she was crowned the 2025 Miss Haynes Smith Talented Teen Caribbean. Returning to the Virgin Islands on Tuesday, December 30, Marcelin received a courtesy call with the Office of the Premier, and a full sit-down conversation with the Honourable Dr.
Wheatley is scheduled for release at 4:00 PM on December 31. Reflecting on her victory, Marcelin said, "This feeling is so unreal and unexpected, but I am so grateful for the opportunity to go to St Kitts and represent my VI with grace, beauty, and pride." She told reporters she is both excited and mindful of the responsibility that comes with representing the BVI across the region.
Marcelin plans to use her new platform, 'Eat Well, Move Well, Live Well,' to address health challenges facing Caribbean teens. "Honestly, I'm ready to sleep, but I'm also eager to make an impact using my platform," she said. She described the initiative as targeting stigma around unhealthy habits, lack of physical activity, and the increasing incidence of depression and poor mental health among young people in the region. "I want to inspire and educate the youth in the Caribbean to change their diets, increase their physical activity, and connect with something more spiritual," Marcelin added.

Looking ahead, Marcelin confirmed she will represent the Virgin Islands at Miss Teen Universe in Nicaragua.
