Motorist charged for resisting arrest, injuring female
Road Town Police Station. A Baugher’s Bay man who was initially stopped by police over suspected illegal tint on his vehicle later picked up additional charges after he allegedly resisted arrest and assaulted the police officers who tried to detain him.
A Baugher’s Bay man who was initially stopped by police over suspected illegal tint on his vehicle later picked up additional charges after he allegedly resisted arrest and assaulted the police officers who tried to detain him. BVI News understands that the incident unfolded in Road Town last week while officers were conducting traffic operations.
The officers reportedly stopped the man after noticing what appeared to be illegal tint on an area of his vehicle. After police explained the suspected traffic violation, the man allegedly became agitated and began using indecent language. It’s understood that the police then attempted to arrest him, but he resisted, and a scuffle followed as officers attempted to subdue him.
BVI News understands that a female officer sustained injuries during the incident. However, it’s unclear whether she had to seek medical attention. The man was later arrested and charged with illegal tint, resisting arrest and assaulting police.
