Offshore law firm Mourant has officially launched its Annual Giving Day initiative, inviting non-profit organisations across the British Virgin Islands to apply for charitable funding. Now an established fixture on the Territory's civic calendar, the annual programme is designed to support the vital work of local charities and community groups delivering social, educational, and welfare initiatives across the BVI.
To be considered for funding, interested non-profit organisations must submit a written application by email to kadeem.hodge@mourant.com. Submissions must include the following details: A clear description of the project or programme requiring funding and how the resources will be utilised The specific monetary amount requested A valid copy of the organisation's registered Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) Certificate The application window is open until November 10.
Following the deadline, all proposals will undergo a comprehensive review process conducted by Mourant's BVI Partners alongside the firm's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee. Selected recipients will receive their funding allocations in December. The initiative has demonstrated a strong track record of bolstering local causes.
In 2025, Mourant provided grant assistance to 11 non-profit organisations across the Virgin Islands. Highlighting the importance of the initiative to the firm, Mourant BVI Managing Partner Eleanor Morgan noted that the programme reflects the company's commitment to giving back to the community. "The Mourant Annual Giving Day is an opportunity for us to recognise and contribute to the invaluable work being carried out by local non-profits across the BVI," Morgan stated.
She added that the firm is proud to continue the programme and looks forward to supporting projects that create a lasting, positive impact throughout the Territory. Local organisations are encouraged to prepare and submit their applications well ahead of the November 10 deadline to ensure consideration for this year's grant cycle.
