Mrs. Orlandette Crabbe Confirmed as BVI's New
Mrs. Orlandette Crabbe has been officially confirmed as the Chief Education Officer for the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs, and Sports, starting in June 2024. With a rich background in education, both locally and abroad, Crabbe is set to supervise the Department of Education's administration and management to uphold and enhance educational standards across the Territory.
In a significant move for the British Virgin Islands' educational sector, Mrs. Orlandette Crabbe has been confirmed to take on the role of Chief Education Officer within the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs, and Sports, effective June 2024. Crabbe's appointment follows her successful tenure in an Acting Capacity, during which she has demonstrated her commitment and capability in elevating the Territory's educational standards.
Crabbe will oversee the administration and management of the Department of Education. Her responsibilities will include ensuring that educational standards are not only maintained but also continuously developed to meet the needs of students throughout the Territory. With an extensive career in education, Mrs.
Crabbe brings a wealth of experience to the table. She began her journey in education as a teacher at Belle Vue Primary School, before moving on to Althea Scatliffe Primary School and then to Ingleside Elementary in Norfolk, Virginia, USA. Her leadership skills were further honed in her roles as Assistant Principal at Althea Scatliffe Primary School and Principal of Joyce Samuel Primary School.
Additionally, her experience includes serving as an Adjunct Lecturer at the H. Crabbe's academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Preschool, Pre-K, and Primary Education from Florida A&M University, and a Master of Science in Early Childhood Education from Florida State University.
These qualifications, combined with her extensive on-the-ground experience, position her as an ideal candidate to lead the educational developments in the Territory.
