Parham Town Owners Given Removal Deadline
The Ministry of Communications and Works has issued a final notice instructing owners of vehicles and boats in Parham Town to clear their property. The site must be vacated by Monday, October 19, to make way for the installation of a new sewerage pump station.
The Ministry of Communications and Works has issued a final notice urging owners of vehicles and boats located in Parham Town to relocate their property immediately ahead of upcoming sewerage infrastructure works. According to an official notice issued on Thursday, October 15, vessel and vehicle owners have been instructed to clear their belongings before Monday, October 19.
Officials emphasised that if owners fail to act within the specified timeframe, the Ministry of Communications and Works will be forced to remove the items to prevent disruptions to the scheduled civil works. The site must be completely cleared to facilitate the installation of a new sewerage pump station, which serves as a critical component in the territory's expanding wastewater management network.
Authorities have noted that heavy equipment and specialized personnel will require unobstructed access to the area to execute the installation safely and efficiently. The planned works represent another milestone in the government's broader commitment to upgrading and modernising utility infrastructure across the East End and Long Look communities.
In December 2025, the government awarded a contract valued at $4,152,452.50 to Biosafe Treatment and Septic Solutions for the installation of sewerage gravity main lines connecting Parham Town to Long Swamp. That main line contract was initially scheduled for completion within an eight-month window.
The overall sewerage project remains a long-awaited and vital public health undertaking for residents in the eastern district of Tortola. Residents and property owners in the vicinity are encouraged to cooperate with the ministry's directives to avoid the displacement or impoundment of their property and to help ensure the project proceeds without unnecessary delays.
