A weak weather trough is bringing marginal moisture across the Virgin Islands, resulting in partly sunny skies and a moderate chance of brief passing showers. Marine conditions remain relatively calm with easterly winds and seas reaching three to five feet over the next 24 hours.

Atmospheric analysis indicates that although a weak trough system is currently positioned across the northeastern Caribbean, the atmosphere contains only marginal moisture levels. Because of this limited moisture, widespread or prolonged rainfall activity will remain suppressed over and around the territory throughout the day and into the evening.
For today, forecasters anticipate partly sunny skies accompanied by a 40 percent, or moderate, chance of brief passing showers drifting across the islands. Into tonight, conditions will remain fair to partly cloudy, with the 40 percent probability of quick showers persisting overnight as localized patches of moisture move through the area.
Marine conditions across the territory remain generally favorable for boaters and coastal enthusiasts. Winds are forecast to blow from the east at speeds between 7 and 18 miles per hour, or 11 to 30 kilometers per hour, with occasional lighter spells. Open waters and coastal seas are expected to maintain wave heights ranging from 3 to 5 feet, or approximately 1 to 1.5 meters.
Sunset today will take place at 6:09 PM, followed by sunrise tomorrow morning at 6:08 AM. Although no adverse weather watches or warnings are currently in effect, small craft operators, mariners, and beachgoers are reminded to exercise standard sea safety precautions.
