Pedro Capó to Headline Xmas in July
Puerto Rican star Pedro Capó will headline Xmas in July 2026, returning to the British Virgin Islands as organisers promise music, sailing and a summer beach party at Pond Bay. The event — produced by Wally Castro Marine with the BVI Tourist Board and Marcos Rivera — will support Beyond the Reef through a portion of tumbler sales and aim to boost the local nautical and tourism economy.
Pedro Capó will headline Xmas in July 2026 when the popular summer celebration returns to Pond Bay, organisers announced. The event is being staged once again by Wally Castro Marine in partnership with the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board and Film Commission and producer Marcos Rivera. "Beyond the fun and its significance as an end-of-summer event, Xmas in July 2026 has already become a tradition that strengthens the bonds of friendship between the BVI and Puerto Rico," Wally Castro said in a press release, noting the party's growing fan base and its contribution to the nautical industry in both territories.
In addition to Capó, the musical lineup features Tortola favourites Final Faze, and Puerto Rican bands La Vecina and Maeso y su Orquesta. Ronny Campos of Magic 97.3 FM will serve as host alongside influencer Marena Sofía. As in previous years, guests may purchase the event's official tumbler to access the Xmas in July Beach Open Bar; tumblers are available now at www.xmasinjulyparty.com and will also be sold at the event.
Organisers will donate 15 percent of tumbler sales to Beyond the Reef, a Virgin Islands nonprofit focused on marine environmental education and conservation. Representatives from Beyond the Reef will be on site to sell merchandise, engage attendees and raise awareness about protecting the marine environment that is central to the BVI’s tourism and boating culture. "It’s time to welcome the Puerto Rican Navy once again, and in the BVI we are ready," said Clive L.
McCoy, Director of Tourism, highlighting updated accommodations, beaches, food and music. McCoy added the event showcases the BVI as the "sailing capital of the world" and offers a safe, festive environment for visitors that can encourage return stays and island exploration. Xmas in July attracts boaters from Puerto Rico and other islands, as well as visitors who fly in, stay at local hotels and use ferries to reach Pond Bay.
Beyond entertainment, the event aims to create a local economic ripple by supporting nonprofit initiatives and promoting the territory's marine and hospitality sectors. Sponsors for 2026 include a range of local and international partners such as Heineken, Tito's Handmade Vodka, Boston Whaler, The Moorings, Bitter End Yacht Club and Rosewood Little Dix Bay, among others.
