The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) issued a wanted poster on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, asking for public help to locate 33-year-old Jazz Freeman in connection with alleged possession of an illegal firearm, explosives and controlled drugs. The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) issued a wanted bulletin to the public on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, seeking assistance to locate Jazz Freeman, whom detectives want to question in relation to alleged possession of an illegal firearm, explosives and controlled drugs, the police said in a release reported by BVI News.
Local news site Guavaberry also published the RVIPF poster on January 7, confirming the same allegations and the request for public help. Both outlets said the poster was distributed to communities where Freeman is known to frequent. According to the RVIPF release cited by BVI News, Freeman is a 33-year-old male described as having plaits, a fair complexion, a medium build and a height of about 5 feet 9 inches.
A photograph was circulated with the bulletin to help members of the public identify him, the release said. The notice identifies Purcell Estate, Free Bottom, Baugher’s Bay, Road Town and surrounding areas as places Freeman is known to frequent. Police are asking residents, businesses, taxi drivers and others in those communities to be vigilant and to check security cameras, doorbell footage or dashcams for any possible sightings that could help investigators pinpoint his movements, the RVIPF added.
Anyone with information about Freeman’s whereabouts is asked to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit directly at 368-9339, 368-9593 or 368-9345, the bulletin states. Tips may also be shared confidentially through Crimestoppers by calling 800-8477 (TIPS) locally or 284-800-8477 from overseas, as noted in the police release and reported by both BVI News and Guavaberry.
Authorities emphasised that being sought for questioning does not amount to a criminal conviction and that the bulletin reflects an active inquiry. Police sources speaking to VINO said the investigation remains ongoing and that detectives are following multiple lines of inquiry to establish the full circumstances surrounding the alleged offences.
As a safety precaution, the RVIPF warned members of the public not to approach or attempt to detain Freeman if they believe they have seen him, and instead to call the numbers provided so trained officers can respond, the release reported by BVI News said. Investigators reiterated that any information, however small, may assist the inquiry, and encouraged residents who wish to remain anonymous to use the Crimestoppers service.
The RVIPF said all credible leads will be investigated thoroughly and that officials will release further information when appropriate. Members of the public with relevant footage or observations from the named communities are asked to forward details to the Intelligence Unit as soon as possible.
Local authorities said they will continue to update the public as the investigation progresses.
