Natalio Wheatley has officially congratulated Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell and the National Democratic Congress on their historic victory in Grenada's recent general election. The ruling party achieved a decisive sweep, securing 14 of the 15 seats in the House of Representatives and capturing more than 61 per cent of the popular vote.

Premier Wheatley described the outcome as a monumental achievement for the nation, noting that the victory represents the largest democratic mandate the party has ever received. He pointed out that the result effectively breaks a historical pattern in Grenadian politics where the party had previously only served single terms in office.

Highlighting the close bond between the British Virgin Islands and Grenada, Premier Wheatley emphasised that the relationship between both territories runs far deeper than shared geography. Many residents across the Virgin Islands share direct ancestral and familial connections with Grenada, creating a strong cultural bridge across the Eastern Caribbean.

Premier Wheatley noted that both nations are bound by family ties, a shared regional history, and joint membership in the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States. He added that the two territories share a common aspiration to build resilient, self-reliant societies that can thrive in an evolving global landscape.

Looking ahead, the Premier expressed a strong desire to collaborate with Prime Minister Mitchell on vital regional issues. Key areas of planned cooperation include climate change resilience, sustainable economic development, and broader policies aimed at uplifting citizens across the Eastern Caribbean.

Premier Wheatley concluded by extending warm wishes to Prime Minister Mitchell, his newly formed administration, and the people of Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique for a prosperous, successful, and well-governed term ahead.
