Premier Natalio D. Wheatley has officially announced the launch of the Village Cay, Rhythm+Sands, Food & Rum Festival, set to invigorate the BVI's tourism sector during traditionally slower months. The event, spanning from October 17 to 19, 2025, aims to showcase local and international culinary talents, as well as musical acts, in an effort to keep tourism properties operational year-round.
In a significant move aimed at bolstering the British Virgin Islands' tourism sector during its off-peak season, Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley (R7), has thrown his full support behind the inaugural Village Cay, Rhythm+Sands, Food & Rum Festival.
During a press conference held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, Premier Wheatley underscored the importance of the event in keeping the tourism economy vibrant throughout the year. The festival, scheduled to take place from October 17 to 19, 2025, is not just a celebration of the islands' rich culinary heritage and musical talent but also a strategic initiative to ensure the sustainability of the tourism sector.
Renowned chefs, wine and rum experts, alongside local and international musicians, will converge to offer attendees an unparalleled experience, highlighting the very best of what the Virgin Islands have to offer. "Eliminating the slow season is an ambitious goal for us here in the Virgin Islands," he stated.
