The Government Information Service is reminding residents to follow rules and report unauthorised or improper use of Queen Elizabeth II Park. Permanent Secretary Dr Ronald F. Berkeley urged the community to take collective responsibility to keep the park clean, safe and available for future generations.
The Government Information Service (GIS) has issued a reminder urging residents to observe park rules and report any unauthorised or improper use of Queen Elizabeth II (QE II) Park. The notice, shared by the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change (MENRCC), stresses community responsibility in protecting this important public space.
Permanent Secretary in the MENRCC, Dr Ronald F. Berkeley, underlined the park’s value to families and the wider community. He said: “The Queen Elizabeth II Park is a place where families gather, friends meet, and people of all ages find joy in nature and recreation. Each of us plays an important role in keeping the park clean and beautiful.
When we take care of this space, we not only protect the environment and uphold community pride, but we also ensure that our children and grandchildren will be able to enjoy the Queen Elizabeth II Park for years to come. Together, we can make our community safer, healthier, and more welcoming for residents and visitors alike.” While the GIS release specifically calls for the public to report unauthorised activities, MENRCC officials say simple everyday behaviours also make a big difference.
Residents are asked to follow posted signage, supervise children, remove litter and refuse to leaving bags behind, avoid driving or parking on grassed areas, and refrain from damaging fixtures or vegetation. These practices help preserve the park’s facilities and green space for sports, play and family gatherings.
