Mhews Checklist Consultancy Sought for BVI

The Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) is seeking individual consultants to carry out the application of the Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems (MHEWS) Checklist in the British Virgin Islands, according to a request for proposals posted by the Government of the Virgin Islands and CDEMA.
The consultancy will be financed in part through the CDEMA-CARICOM-Japan MHEWS Project. The MHEWS Checklist exercise is designed to assess and strengthen the territory’s early warning capacities across multiple hazards — including hurricanes, flooding and other natural threats relevant to the region.

The assignment is expected to last approximately 3.5 months (about 70 working days). CDEMA invites interested eligible individual consultants to submit proposals in English.
Firms may nominate a qualified individual consultant, but selection will be based solely on the individual’s qualifications and experience; corporate experience will not be considered. Where firms propose an individual, the contract will be signed with the proposed individual consultant, the notices say.
