The Office of the Deputy Governor is asking Virgin Islands residents to take part in a new survey that will inform a wider Public Service Transformation Programme launched in 2025. Public Service Transformation Manager Kishann Cupid Braithwaite said the programme builds on past efforts and aligns with broader national plans to formalise guidelines that strengthen accountability and performance across the Public Service. "The programme builds on previous successes by aligning with ongoing national goals and setting new standards for accountability and performance," she said.

According to a recent Facebook post from the Office, the initiative focuses on strengthening service standards and supporting public officers so they can meet the public’s expectations and deliver more effective services to the people of the Virgin Islands. Mrs Cupid Braithwaite emphasised the role of residents in shaping the programme: "The primary objective of the Public Service is to provide efficient, high-quality service to the people of the Virgin Islands.

Public feedback is vital to guiding the continued development and improvement of the Public Service while helping to safeguard the quality and integrity of the public sector." The online survey is open to all residents and organisers stress that responses will remain confidential.

Officials are encouraging broad participation to ensure that the programme reflects a wide range of experiences — from front-line contact with government departments to digital services and administrative processes that affect businesses and households. For many in the BVI, improvements to the Public Service can mean faster processing of permits and licences, clearer communication during emergencies, more efficient social services, and better support for tourism and business sectors.

By providing feedback, residents can highlight where services are meeting expectations and where they need improvement. The survey must be completed by August 17, 2026. Residents can access it at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/7K9Y7JH. Those with questions about the transformation programme or who require assistance completing the survey can contact the Office of the Deputy Governor through its official channels.

Officials say the transformation programme will be ongoing, using survey feedback alongside internal reviews to set priorities, measure performance, and implement changes aimed at delivering more responsive, accountable public services across the Virgin Islands.
