Scenes from Round 1 of the 46th Chess Olympiad ♟️🇻🇬 Team BVI kicked things off in Samarkand! Our Open Team took on El Salvador, while the Women's Team faced Tajikistan. Tough pairings for both teams, as expected in the early rounds when the Swiss system throws stronger teams into the mix - but our players held their own and got their first taste of Olympiad chess.
