Search Continues for Missing D6 Resident
Community members and authorities across the Virgin Islands are actively searching for 48-year-old Mozart Peters, who was reported missing earlier this week from Free Bottom. Considered a vulnerable adult, Peters was last seen without shoes or full clothing, prompting Sixth District Representative Myron Walwyn to organize ongoing community search efforts.
Community search efforts are intensifying across Tortola as authorities and residents continue to look for 48-year-old Sixth District resident Mozart Peters, also widely known as Dexter. Peters was reported missing by his family after disappearing late Monday night. According to a Missing Persons Bulletin issued by the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), Peters was last seen leaving his Free Bottom residence after 11:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17.
Police have identified him as a vulnerable adult who may require medical or personal assistance. At the time of his disappearance, Peters was wearing only a white vest and light blue underpants, and was barefoot. He is described as being five feet five inches tall, with a slim build and dark complexion.
Sixth District Representative Myron Walwyn has been actively mobilizing residents to assist in locating Peters. Walwyn extended his gratitude to volunteers who joined search parties earlier in the week, noting that while Peters has not yet been located, searchers have gathered encouraging information that is currently being investigated.
Residents and motorists traveling through central Tortola communities—particularly Fahie Hill, Long Trench, Belle Vue, and neighboring areas—are urged to keep a close watch for anyone matching Peters' description. Walwyn announced that organized search efforts will resume at 4:00 p.m., with volunteers gathering at the top of the hill near the car wash in Long Trench.
