The first-ever Anti-Crime Summit began at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, under the theme ‘Our Virgin Island: Safe Communities, Prosperous Territory’ and will conclude today, Friday, September 26, 2025. The keynote speaker is Mr Roberto Smalls aka 'Robbie'.
According to the RVIPF, in a press statement around noon, the Commissioner of Police has directed for enhanced security for the event. "This includes a coordinated, multi-agency approach with substantial armed and unarmed resources assigned to secure the Summit and its surrounding areas.
We are also receiving additional support from our law enforcement partners." The RVIPF said while there has been no confirmed threat, the safety of all attendees and members of the public "is our highest priority. Officers will be on site to ensure that the Summit proceeds safely and without disruption." The public has been urged to remain calm and vigilant, and to report any suspicious activity immediately to the police by calling the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339 or via the non-emergency access number 311. "The RVIPF is fully prepared and confident in the security measures implemented.
