Stable Weather with Scattered Showers Expected
The British Virgin Islands will experience relatively dry and stable weather conditions today, though scattered showers remain possible. Marine conditions are expected to stay calm with gentle winds and seas reaching up to four feet.
Residents across the British Virgin Islands can look forward to another day of relatively dry and stable atmospheric conditions, according to the latest morning weather report issued by the Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services and shared by the Department of Disaster Management.
Throughout the daytime hours, the territory is expected to see partly cloudy skies with a 40 percent, or moderate, chance of scattered passing showers. By this evening and into the overnight period, moisture levels are projected to increase slightly, raising the probability of showers across the islands to around 60 percent under continued partly cloudy skies.
Local marine conditions remain favorable for mariners, fishers, and recreational boaters. Winds are forecasted to blow gently from the east-southeast at speeds between 5 and 12 miles per hour (7 to 19 km/h). Sea swells are expected to remain slight to moderate, ranging between 3 and 4 feet (1.0 to 1.2 metres), posing no significant hazards for small craft operations.
Sunset across the Virgin Islands is scheduled for 6:15 pm this evening, with sunrise tomorrow morning occurring at 6:07 am. The Department of Disaster Management continues to remind the public that local forecasts serve as a general guide for daily planning.
