City University of Macau has opened applications for the 2026/27 academic year, offering over 50 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes designed to prepare students for international careers, the Government of the Virgin Islands has announced. According to the Government, the university provides instruction in English, Chinese and Portuguese and awards internationally recognised qualifications in a multicultural learning environment.
Programmes cover a wide range of disciplines, including Business, Tourism & Hospitality, Design, Social Work, Linguistics, Computer Science and Psychology, among others. The Government emphasises Macau’s distinctive positioning as a Special Administrative Region of China with a strong Portuguese heritage, saying this makes the university a useful option for students seeking exposure to international tourism markets and multilingual commerce.
For BVI residents, programmes such as Tourism & Hospitality and Business are highlighted as practical pathways into regional tourism management, hospitality operations and international business roles that align with the territory’s tourism-driven economy. Applications for the 2026/27 intake are open now with a deadline of 30 June 2026, the Government confirmed.
Eligible applicants from the British Virgin Islands may also apply for the BVI Asia Abroad Scholarship Programme to help cover tuition and associated costs; students should contact the Premier’s Office or the relevant scholarship administrators well before the deadline to confirm eligibility criteria and submission requirements.
Prospective applicants are advised to review programme entry requirements and language prerequisites early and to prepare academic transcripts, proof of language proficiency where required, and any scholarship documentation ahead of the deadline.
