USVI Woman Injured in Alleged Domestic Assault
A woman in the US Virgin Islands was found unconscious and bleeding after an alleged assault by her long-term partner, D'Quan “Kimo” Rogers. Rogers has been charged with multiple offences and magistrates upheld probable cause, with bail set ahead of a June court date.
A woman in the United States Virgin Islands was left unconscious and bleeding after she was allegedly punched by her partner, court documents show. Police were called to a residence in the early hours of May 18, where officers found the woman lying unconscious with a head wound. Investigators say she later told officers she had been assaulted by her partner, identified in documents as D'Quan Rogers, also known as "Kimo." According to statements taken from a friend and from the injured woman, the victim had been out with friends at a bar when she saw Rogers.
When the small group arrived at her residence, Rogers allegedly was already there. The woman went inside and, shortly afterward, exited with blood on her face before collapsing. Initial hospital statements named "Kimo" as the assailant in a hallway, and a later, fuller interview described how Rogers had approached her group earlier that evening.
The woman told police she believed Rogers sometimes went to her house to remove jewelry and money during disputes and that she had wanted to leave after seeing him. She said she confronted Rogers at the residence and he responded by punching her in the face, causing her to fall and suffer a laceration on the right side of her face that required eight stitches.
Police noted the couple had experienced prior incidents of physical violence that had not been reported to authorities. Rogers presented himself to the Domestic Violence & Special Victims Unit and was arrested and charged with simple assault as a crime of domestic violence, aggravated assault and disturbance of the peace.
During a court appearance on Tuesday, Magistrate Simone VanHolten-Turnbull found probable cause to uphold the charges. Bail was set at $1,000, with half payable in cash to secure his release. If released, Rogers must report to probation in person twice a week and comply with standard bail conditions.
His next hearing is scheduled for June 12. Although the incident occurred in the USVI, it serves as a reminder for residents across the Virgin Islands that domestic violence remains a serious regional issue. Victims are encouraged to seek immediate help from law enforcement and local support services.
