Competitors representing the Virgin Islands delivered an impressive showing at a regional remote-control (RC) drag racing competition in Antigua, securing a podium finish and posting one of the fastest times in the event's history. Facing off against skilled drivers from several Caribbean islands over a standard 132-foot racing strip, the local contingent proved their technical skill and speed.

Smith, widely known within the racing community as 'Junie', led the charge for the Virgin Islands team. Piloting his vehicle, Red October, Smith advanced through demanding elimination rounds to reach the semifinals. He ultimately captured third place overall, earning a spot on the podium.

Beyond his top-three finish, Smith logged the fastest elapsed time of the entire meet with a blistering pass of 1.2079 seconds. According to the team, that run stands as the second-quickest RC drag racing time ever recorded in Antigua, representing a major milestone for both the driver and the territory's racing programme.

Fellow Virgin Islands competitor Kevin K. Smith, known as 'Imo', also produced a strong campaign. Competing behind the controls of two cars, Justice and Rude Boy, he battled his way into the quarterfinals and registered a personal best time of 1.256 seconds during the contest. Malone, racing under the moniker 'Smoke', campaigned with his machine Blue Smoke, clocking a quickest pass of 1.382 seconds.

While Malone did not advance into the later elimination rounds, his competitive passes added valuable momentum to the team's collective presence at the regional meet. The Virgin Islands RC Drag Racing Team highlighted that the results in Antigua reflect the rising skill level, mechanical dedication, and enthusiasm for the sport at home.

Event organisers centered the gathering around regional camaraderie under the motto, "Different islands. Together we race." Extending gratitude to event hosts RC Nation 268, race officials, fellow competitors, and their supporters, the Virgin Islands team confirmed plans to continue competing abroad as they represent the territory on the expanding Caribbean RC circuit.
